Mr. Villanueva is a seasoned industry veteran with more than 14 years of experience in the natural gas and electric industry in the areas of retail and wholesale energy sales/marketing, regulatory, commodity operations, product structuring, energy procurement and project management. He is responsible for designing and implementing an effective sales strategy in Ontario.
Prior to joining Gateway, Mr. Villanueva worked for Direct Energy, where he held various roles within the Residential/Small Commercial division and, most recently, as Director of Commodity Operations and Energy Sales in Direct’s Business-to-Business division. In addition, he has served on numerous industry committees and government task forces assigned to build the framework for the deregulation of the Ontario electric market in 2002, as well as the evolution of the gas industry to its current state in Ontario.
